About StateCams.com
A live webcam directory for Rhode Island.
What is StateCams.com?
StateCams.com is a free, interactive map of publicly available webcams and traffic cameras across Rhode Island. Browse live road conditions, highway views, and scenic webcams — all updated in real time, 24/7.
Every camera on the map links to a publicly accessible feed. We don't operate or control any of the cameras listed — we simply make them easy to find and view in one place.
Data Sources
Camera feeds are sourced from publicly available streams provided by the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT), regional news and weather organizations, and other public institutions. All streams remain the property of their respective operators.
Who Made This?
StateCams.com is a project by Bruxley, a small independent software studio. It started as a simple experiment to make Rhode Island's scattered public camera feeds easier to discover.
Coverage Area
StateCams.com currently covers Rhode Island and nearby portions of southeastern Massachusetts. The map includes over 150 live cameras, with the heaviest concentration along the I-95, I-195, and I-295 corridors in the Providence metro area and at coastal locations including Newport, Block Island, and Narragansett Bay.
Camera coverage reflects publicly available feeds only. Regions with limited or no publicly shared streams will have fewer cameras than regions where RIDOT, local news organizations, or other public institutions operate accessible feeds.
Features
The map includes several features designed to make it more useful for practical trip planning and commuting:
Live weather radar overlay — Toggle a NEXRAD-based precipitation radar layer directly over the camera map. Combining radar with specific camera views gives both a regional weather picture and ground-level confirmation simultaneously.
Favorites — Save cameras you check regularly and view them in a side-by-side grid layout. Favorites persist in your browser and are accessible via the Favorites panel. The grid view supports 2×, 3×, and 4-column layouts.
Browse by region and road — The Browse page organizes all cameras by geographic region and by highway, making it easy to find coverage for a specific area without navigating the full map.
Camera guide — The Rhode Island traffic camera guide provides in-depth context on what each part of the camera network covers, when cameras are most useful, and how to interpret live footage.
