Newport International Boat Show traffic guide

Seven connected show sites spread across Newport’s downtown wharves. Use live bridge, harbor and city views, then favor the official remote parking shuttle or ferry over searching the waterfront for a space.

Downtown is part of the show footprint

Exhibits connect Commercial Wharf, the Newport Yachting Center, Bannister’s and Bowen’s wharves, Market Square and nearby sites. That puts the event directly on the America’s Cup Avenue and Thames Street corridor, where ordinary visitor traffic and pedestrian crossings already slow movement.

The official recommendation: park at Easton’s Beach and use the continuous complimentary shuttle included with the parking pass. The Jamestown express ferry also reaches Perrotti Park near the show.

Choose the transport plan before arrival

  • Easton’s Beach shuttle: best for a predictable official parking plan; advance purchase is recommended because space is limited.
  • Jamestown ferry: useful when approaching from the west and includes options that avoid downtown driving.
  • Providence–Newport ferry: arrives at Perrotti Park within walking distance of the show.
  • Downtown parking: possible, but limited and vulnerable to local congestion.

Prices and operations change. Check the show’s official parking and transportation section.
