Amica Newport Marathon traffic & parking guide

The marathon and half marathon start together at Easton’s Beach, then use waterfront and residential roads across Newport and Middletown. Check the island approach before dawn and follow the current course notices rather than an ordinary navigation route.

2026: October 11 at 7:30 a.m.Start/finish: Easton’s BeachParking shuttles begin at 5 a.m.

Expect an early, distributed impact

Both races start at 7:30 a.m. The half marathon stays in Newport, while the full marathon continues into Middletown before returning to Easton’s Beach. Course traffic controls can make a route look clear on the highway while local access is restricted.

Check the current course before driving across it. Race operations and permitted crossings can change. The event map and police direction take priority over saved directions.

Parking and shuttle plan

There is no race-day parking at the Easton’s Beach start and finish. Marathon parking is at Second Beach; half-marathon parking is at Aquidneck Corporate Park. Official shuttles begin at 5 a.m., and the organizer recommends being parked and aboard by 6:15 a.m.

  • Use the parking location assigned to your race.
  • Add time for the shuttle and the walk to the start—not just the drive to Newport.
  • If you are not racing, avoid Ocean Drive and course neighborhoods until controls are lifted.
  • Recheck the organizer’s parking section during race week.
